Can anyone help with outboarding my front springs?
« on: July 21, 2011, 11:52:02 PM »
I found a pretty good deal on a set of axles that I think would be perfect for the CJ7 and 35's.

Quote
9" debraked 4.56 gears 61" wide,

d44 60.5" wide pass drop, 3.07 gears lockouts, 5 and 6 lug hubs,

D44 lunchbox style locker also available..

I'd have to change the front gears too but biggest thing is getting the front springs outboarded. Need to know how much it will cost me.

For the front axle to fit you have to outboard the spring mounts about 2" on each side. The wide trac CJ axles are only 56" wide.

Cant you just put new spring perches on the axle where your springs already are located?

Not on a lot of front axles because the spring perch will be casted into the pumpkin.

So why couldn't you just buy some perches ( about $40 and weld them to the new-to-you axles?
